2-Year Commercial Machine Warranty
Frame and structural components including oil reservoirs, fittings, oil coolers, electrical switches and clutches, pulleys, hydraulic pumps and wheel motors are covered for two years of commercial use. This warranty covers manufacturing defects for two years, including parts and labor (excludes wear items).
3-Year or 500-Hour Non-Commercial Machine Warranty
Frame and structural components including oil reservoirs, fittings, oil coolers, electrical switches and clutches, pulleys, hydraulic pumps and wheel motors are covered for three years or 500 hours (whichever comes first) of non-commercial use. This warranty covers manufacturing defects for three years or 500 hours (whichever comes first), including parts and labor (excludes wear items).
3-Year Cutter Deck Warranty
Scag Velocity Plus™ and Advantage cutter decks continue to be the strongest and best-performing in the industry. We cover them against manufacturer’s defects for three full years. This warranty covers parts and labor for the first and second years, and parts only for the third year. These reliable decks are built to hold up under extreme conditions with features like the Tri-Plate deck top. Applies to commercial mowers only.
3-Year Cutter Deck Spindle Warranty
Most Scag mowers are equipped with the exclusive Scag heavy-duty cutter-blade spindle. Scag spindles have a cast-iron housing for increased shock-load strength and tapered roller bearings for 50% more load-carrying capacity than ball bearings. For easy maintenance and seal protection, our grease fittings are top-mounted and have a grease relief valve to prevent over-greasing. We ensure our spindle’s dependability, not only through its top-quality construction, but also through complete coverage of parts and labor for the first and second years, and parts only for the third year. Applies to commercial and non-commercial use.

Below is a comprehensive guide detailing the break-in and regular service intervals for maintaining the Scag Cheetah II.BREAK-IN-PERIOD (FIRST 10 HOURS)
- Check all hardware for tightness: Ensure that all bolts and screws are properly secured to prevent any operational issues.
- Check hydraulic oil level: Verify the hydraulic oil level as per the instructions in paragraph 7.3 to maintain the hydraulic system's efficiency.
- Check all belts for proper alignment: Refer to paragraph 7.8 to ensure belts are correctly aligned, preventing premature wear.
- Change engine oil and filter: Following the initial 10 hours of operation, change the engine oil and filter according to paragraph 7.4 to remove any contaminants.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE INTERVALS
EVERY 8 HOURS
- Check engine oil level: Regularly monitor and maintain the engine oil level as instructed in paragraph 7.4 to ensure smooth engine operation.
- Clean mower: Keep the mower clean to avoid debris buildup, as highlighted in paragraph 7.11.
EVERY 20 HOURS
- Check condition of blades: Inspect the blades for sharpness and damage, as detailed in paragraph 7.9.
EVERY 40 HOURS
- Apply grease to fittings: Lubricate the necessary fittings to reduce friction and wear, following paragraph 7.2.
- Check tire pressure: Maintain proper tire pressure as per paragraph 7.10 to ensure optimal traction and stability.
- Inspect seat belt for wear or damage: Examine the seat belt for any signs of wear and tear as outlined in paragraph 2.6.
- Check the operator interlock system: Verify the functioning of the safety interlock system according to paragraph 4.3.
EVERY 100 HOURS
- Change engine oil and filter: Perform a complete oil and filter change as per paragraph 7.4 to keep the engine running smoothly.
- Check battery and clean battery posts and cables: Maintain the battery and its connections as instructed in paragraph 7.7.
- Inspect pump drive belt: Check the pump drive belt and replace it every 400 hours or two years, whichever comes first, as detailed in paragraphs 6.5 and 7.8.
- Check belts for proper alignment: Ensure all belts are properly aligned, as detailed in paragraph 7.8.
- Check conditions of fuel lines: Inspect fuel lines for any signs of wear or damage.
EVERY 200 HOURS

EVERY 500 HOURS
- Apply grease to fittings: Lubricate all fittings as necessary.
- Check hardware for tightness: Ensure all components are securely fastened.

- LOW / HIGH Speed Actuator (200 Hours/Monthly): Lubricate the speed actuators with chassis grease.
- Cutter Deck Bellcranks (100 Hours/Bi-Weekly): Grease the cutter deck bellcranks frequently.
- Cutter Deck Pusharms (100 Hours/Bi-Weekly): Ensure the pusharms are well-lubricated.
- Cutter Deck Spindle (40 Hours/Weekly): Use spindle grease for the cutter deck spindles to ensure smooth operation.
SPECIAL MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
- Checking Hydraulic Oil Level: Inspect the hydraulic oil level after the first 10 hours and every 200 hours subsequently. Ensure the oil is at the proper level to avoid leaks and ensure efficient operation.
- Changing Hydraulic Oil and Filter: The hydraulic oil should be changed after the first 100 hours and every 500 hours thereafter. This process involves draining the old oil, replacing the filters, and refilling with new oil.
