IMPRESSIVE POWER-TO-WEIGHT RATIO
The STIHL MS 462-Z Chainsaw 25" has an impressive power to weight ratio at only 13.2 lbs. and boasting a 72.2 cc STIHL STIHL 2-MIX engine it allows users to get more done by minimizing fatigue.
Unique bumper spike design
Regardless of the type of tree being cut, pros can count on optimal performance thanks to the unique bumper spike design.
Decompression valve
The decompression valve, also referred to as 'deco' or 'deco valve', vents compression in the cylinder for easier starting. The decompression valve temporarily reduces the compression in the combustion chamber during cranking and helps reduce the effort needed to pull the starter rope. It is opened manually and closes automatically as soon as the engine fires.
Master Control Lever™
A simple to use single lever, the Master Control Lever™ controls the choke, starting throttle lock, and on/off switch. Before adjusting the Master Control Lever™ to the choke position, the operator must pull the throttle trigger.
Anti-Vibration System
STIHL MS 462-Z Chainsaw 25" features a system for minimizing the vibration levels of handheld outdoor power equipment. The STIHL anti-vibration system helps reduce operator fatigue and provides a more comfortable working experience.
STIHL ElastoStart™
STIHL ElastoStart™ is a starting grip that has an integrated shock absorber to lessen the effort required to pull on the starter cord. The sudden peak forces (compression) that are typically experienced while cranking are significantly lessened by the STIHL ElastoStart™ starter grip
Ematic™ Lubrication System
The Ematic™ guide bar, when used with STIHL OILOMATIC® saw chain, will provide proper lubrication and less oil consumption than conventional methods.
Quickstop® chain brake
The STIHL Quickstop® chain stopping system on STIHL chainsaws is intended to lessen the possibility of injury in specific kickback scenarios. When activated by the user's hand or by inertia if the saw kicks back hard enough, the STIHL Quickstop® chain brake is intended to stop the chain from rotating.
HD2 Air Filter
STIHL MS 462-Z Chainsaw 25" features a washable HD2 air filter has an extremely long filter life and lower maintenance requirements. The large surface area enables high performance even when operating in dusty and dry conditions as well as longer run times between cleanings. In general, the HD2 air filter protects the engine better than standard air filters.
High Performance Adjustable Oiler
The high output oiler can provide extra lubrication for longer guide bars and/or dry/dusty cutting conditions when used with STIHL OILOMATIC® saw chain and STIHL EmaticTM guide bars.
Toolless fuel and oil caps
Simply lift the lever and twist the caps to remove or tighten. There’s no need to use a tool to tighten or loosen.
Side-Access Chain Tensioner
The side-access chain tensioner makes it much more convenient for the user to adjust the saw chain with a bar wrench as opposed to the typical location of the guide bar adjustment screw. It also includes Lightweight sprocket cover with captive bar nuts, never loose a pesky bar nut again!
